Lilly Rouge's music is an interesting blend of 70's and 80's rock, melodic metal, goth and punk rock. All of the tracks are composed by lead singer/guitarist Lilly and recorded in Brisbane, Australia.

This is the first release from the quartet and has been described as "catchy, riffy and hard hitting." 'Severed Souls' does indeed contain mostly riff-based compositions, the title track 'House of Severed Souls' very reminiscent of 'The Fight Song' by Marilyn Manson paired with Amy Lee-esque (of Evanescence fame) style vocals.

Second cab off the rank, 'All You Freaks' has been dubbed as the new anthem for those that identify as being "different" or "outsiders" the line, 'All you freaks come greet the moonlight' a call to arms for those that dwell in "The witching hour". The songs that follow are equally fantastic, the southern style riff of 'Puppet Master' blending perfectly into the mix alongside 'Lay Me Down' the poppiest song on the CD.
