简介
Alain Jean-Marie is considered by many to be France’s – if not Europe’s – top living jazz pianist. Born in Guadeloupe, Alain established himself in Paris, France, where he quickly became a ‘first-call’ pianist after winning the Django Reinhardt Prize en 1979, France’s foremost distinction for jazz musicians. Since then, he has toured and recorded with such jazz legends as Chet Baker, Sonny Stitt, Art Farmer, Johnny Griffin, Lee Konitz, Bill Coleman, Max Roach and Benny Golson. In 1987, Alain Jean-Marie recorded a duo LP with double bassist Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen. In 1999, his "Afterblue" LP won the First Prize from France’s Jazz Academy, for ‘Best French Jazz Record’. The following year, Alain won the ‘Golden’ Django Award as ‘Best French Jazz Musician.’ Based in Paris, France, Pierre Boussaguet is one of the world’s most sought-after jazz double bass players. In 1988, with jazz legend Ray Brown who took him under his wing, he co-founded the band ‘Two Bass Hits,’ leading to many tours and two memorable LP’s of bass duets. Pierre is a ‘first-call’ sideman who has performed with -- among many others -- Clark Terry, Joe Pass, Tommy Flanagan, Milt Jackson, Wynton Marsalis, Didier Lockwood, Diana Krall (on «The Look Of Love» World Tour in 2002), Lalo Schifrin, and most recently Michel Legrand.
