Technology is a double-edged sword.

In the not-so-distant past, it would be inconceivable that two artists separated by over 5000 miles could create an entire album without ever meeting face to face. With “The Chaos Theory”, Los Angeles emcee Avatar & producer Dynamo414 - hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden - have done just that. In a little over a year these two luminaries have been sending files back and forth, shaping an album that represents the diversity of the modern day hip hop movement and the synergy of a world connected by technology.

From the first synth snarl of “Fadeaway”, it is apparent that the listener is in a world far from the played-out materialism and generic beats that have plagued much of today’s urban music. Avatar’s rapid fire delivery has proved a perfect match for the eclectic, mind-blowing production style of Dynamo414, resulting a tantalizing blend of L.A. underground and Scandinavian breakbeat sensibilities. This innovative collaboration spans the creative spectrum, from the revolutionary anthem “Our Day Will Come” to the old-school bravado of “Beat Nonstop” to the sly and seductive “Cat & Mouse”, these seventeen songs showcase the versatility of two individuals committed to their art form.

By merging the complexity of underground rhythms and rhyme schemes with the contagious hooks and melodies usually reserved for the mainstream, Avatar & Dyanamo414 have tapped into the best of both worlds. With contributions from some of L.A.’s most respected underground emcees - Akuma from the world-renowned Shapeshifters, Neila, Matre from the League, freestyle battle veteran Jizzm High Definition, Project Blowed’s Acid Reign and former People Under the Stairs alum Smile-OAK - “The Chaos Theory” is an exercise in contagious consciousness.
