简介
The Joey Goldstein Quartet - Thanks Charlie (JG-003) is Toronto-based jazz guitarist Joey Goldstein's third album release, the other two having been released in 1988 (The Joey Goldstein Band - Time's Square) and 1993 (Joey Goldstein & Friends - A Strange Little Tune). "wow! joey!! yeah!!...it is just great" - Pat Metheny (Note: I studied with Pat at Berklee College of Music in the mid 1970s and we've kept in touch over the years.] Why so long since the last album? Good question. But hopefully you'll agree that it's about time for a new album already, eh? This outing features fellow Torontonians John Johnson (tenor, alto and soprano saxophones), Jim Vivian (acoustic bass) and Vito Rezza (drums) and contains 8 new original contemporary jazz compositions from the leader. Recorded, Mixed and Mastered December 2012 through March 2013 at Number 9 Recording Studios in Toronto. Engineered, mixed and mastered by Bernie Cisternas. Some guitar tracks engineered by Joey Goldstein. All guitar tracks recorded via a Fractal Audio Axe-FXII guitar processor). CD insert design and artwork by Scott Pearson. Special thanks to: J.J., Jim and Vito for playing so well and making my tunes happen; George Rondina, Bernie Cisternas, Neale Ramakrishnan and Scott Pearson at Number 9; Charlie Banacos (for all the great musical ideas), Fractal Audio, USA Custom Guitars and Warmoth Custom Guitar Products.
