Arena del mar is the album i enjoyed more in my second cicle of music making, it was made during the year 2000 just after darina frances o´shea from cork, ireland left home in mexico city. The title of the first and main track that gives album the name arena del mar is an abstraction of her name traslated to spanish words. Darina (made of arena) o´shea (from the sea). The message on this track expresses the deep need of having her beside again: come to me, darina o´shea. (ven a mi arena del mar). It is made on a very simple and at the same time complex secuence repetitive hipnotic mood, with a basic drum program beat without fillins, a minimalist fretless bassline with only one phrase and short sinthetic figures on both octaves, three colors on mayor a key and a couple of weird naive guitars crying and begging for her prescence. Very visceral and emotive tune easy to play, easy to listen and funny to examine. The rest of the tracks are the lost parts of the story of our relationship, with the senses of emotions and psicological associations that derivated afterwards our split. I feel it a very personal and introspective work, i love it.
