BackHouse Nation is a collective of musicians, vocalist, writers and producers who frequently work together on each others projects. Some of these musical relationships span decades. The concept of BackHouse Nation was started long ago by a nucleus of close friends who all shared a common goal of just making good music. Music of not just one flavor or vibe but a kaleidascope of rhythms, grooves. and storytelling. The original members were responsible for songs like mega hit "Take Your Time Do It Right" by the SOS Band, "Fallin Like Dominoes" and "Think Twice" by Donald Byrd and even a popular commercial "Boons Farm Apple Wine". This latest project RETROSPECT written and produced by Mbaji under the Backhouse network, pulls elements of the 70's and 80's when music was dominated by songs with great stories, funky bands and dynamic vocalist. The goal was to get back to basics using elements that helped create these great songs we wanted to get back Back To The Music.
