From Louisiana to Texas to Las Vegas, shes been grinding promoting her new R&B/HIP-HOP CD " MY TURN " Who is China Redd? “New Orleans most anticipated Hip- Hop and R&B Diva“ . When you think of “ Diva”, you think of, Patti LaBelle, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and Mary J. Blidge. Some people think to be called a “Diva” is a bad thing. But in Chinas, case bad is all good for her. China Adopted the word “Diva”, from a fan who greeted her as such back stage after a live performance at the, “New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival“. In Chinas eyes, that was the biggest and best compliment someone could have ever given her. To be compared to and put on the same level with some of the people whom she looked up to, admire and inspire to be like gave her that extra boost of confidence and determination to carry on no matter what obstacles shed encounter. China was born and raised in down town “New Orleans“. As a young girl she always knew she would be a singer. In her home there was always Singing and instruments being played. At the tender age of nine, she wrote her first song, and did her first recording using a double cassette player. At age 17, she was hired by, “Dellco Productions“, “gold and platinum producer“, musician, song writer, “Wardell Potts”, to record demos of his songs’ for the purpose of shopping them with various record labels. China has always been a big fan of “Hip-hop and R&B“. So it’s no wonder why she's known in her hometown as a “Rapper and a singer“. But she's not a “Rapper or a Singer” she's a vocalist songwriter, arranger producer and a lyricist. One of the things that set China apart from most singers in the buisness is that, she is a “true artist” , and is able to conform to any music style. To chaulk it up in just a few words, China Redd is “The south's most anticipated artist“.
