The idea behind MC2 starts with the initiative of Santiago Rubio from Monster Cyclone calling his former bandmate David Angulo (Mere Cypher). Rubio and Angulo had coincide in the audiovisual group Sir Adam from 2011 to 2013, and there they started to get interested in the electronic experimentation. From 2013 on, both artists embarked in their own electronic-based projects: Rubio founded Monster Cyclone in 2014 producing songs that cover several genres in the indie dance spectrum. Similarly, Mere Cypher is born in 2014 as an experimental project, ready to explore a wide horizon in the EDM. In 2015, both projects put together some of their tunes, and the result is MC2, an EP that mixes sounds ranging from the ambient passing through retrowave, the DnB, Deep House and Electro. One of the songs in this EP (E igual a), is the signature of this cooperation, with phrases in the song composed independently by both artists that merge together in a sort of energetic dialogue.
