简介
"Song of the Sculpin" is an original jazz composition--swinging, bouncy, driving, plain fun. Skip Morris plays both bass and guitar on the track, and his elegant chord-melody style blends with colorful single-note lines--he's been working at this for so many years that the technical complexity is masked as everything flows naturally out. If you like hard-swinging jazz guitar with an original style, you'll love "Song of the Sculpin." Skip Morris is a professional singer with a deep love of jazz. He's worked as a studio and event singer and guitarist, but most of his performing has been in clubs and for concerts. He's taught guitar at the college level and for the past ten years, Skip has written the "Player to Player" column for JUST JAZZ GUITAR magazine. Skip performs a gig or two every week, sometimes solo, but often in trios or quartets. He plays almost strictly jazz now, but because he played professionally in all sorts of groups from country to blues to pop, these eventually influenced his jazz both in the songs he chooses and the way he plays them.
