简介
I always wanted to be a recording artist. Up until this album was created I wrote music and rapped it out loud every where I was. Regardless if I had a beat or not. Most of the time I would be in the middle of doing something and lyrics would come to my mind. I would have to sit down and write right there at that very moment. It has always been my passion. I have written rhymes on everything you can think of. I have filled notebooks. I have written on napkins, paper plates, scrap pieces of paper, between the lines on newspapers and even on my own skin. I had recorded a few tracks through a producer friend of mine named EXC at about age 17 or 18 years old but I had been previously writing for years. I used to pay a couple hundred dollars per track to this producer at this point. He recorded "We Ride", "Dream Girl" and "Oh No!" for me. I didn't have the money to finish the album. I had worked a few dead end jobs at this point but I was still running the streets for years to come with my friends partying and chilling with girls. Living the thuggish lifestyle I knew all to well. After a couple years I ran into an old friend of mine named Tempted who was teamed up with his partner Gime Stakz. I found out he was producing music and they had there own record label called TangleWood Entertainment. Tempted listened to what I had recorded and after hearing me rap to him for a few hours he then decided he would pick me up under his label. He believed in me. I was finally able to record without having to pay anymore. Gime Stakz equally excited about me joining the team was constantly feeding me beats. Rapping became my job at this point. I was in the studio constantly and we decided I would add to the tracks I already had recorded previously with EXC and I finish off what would become my first recorded album. Eventually after having have recorded numerous tracks with Tempted and Gime Stakz we started performing live shows in NM and surrounding states all around the Southwest part of the U.S.. In 2009 I had performed over 150 shows. Sometimes three to five shows a week. Rapping was my life at this point and I was living it to the fullest. I was a genuine young American Gangster Rap Artist. We decided to change our squads name to Five Star Records at this point. This made me take my skills to another level and live up to the new name. I was learning and soaking up everything I could learn about becoming a successful artist. I tried school to learn graphic design and animation but school wasn't for me. I loved to learn but at my own rate. I could tear through a semesters course in a week. Which has been my MO since I was a kid. I tattooed knowledge and success on my arms at this point. Which became an everyday reminder to constantly be learning and growing. My style being so different was summed up one night when Gime Stakz looked at me and told me "Your style is so Unorthodox." I finished off the last few songs of this Album and created the cover myself. Unorthodox. The Album. By Rodney Rush.
