Supporting act for Dark Tranquillity, Malmo, Sweden

When BLOFLY, with the thankless task to warm up the audience before the main act goes on stage at 21.00 I'm greeted by a musical genre difficult to determine. I am inclined to agree with Richard Sjunneson of SONIC SYNDICATE that the singer looks a little bit as Lincoln Burrows from Prison Break. However, it is not as criminal to have such a broad vocal registers. The longer BLOFLY plays during their brief appearance, the more I like them. There is a nice mix of abysmal growls and emotional singing. All in a cocktail of really heavy riffs and melodic escapades. My notes say a simpler and more straightforward TOOL without all the progressive elements that at times are reminiscent of Creed's heyday.
