简介
I've always felt that if Ralph Peer had recorded my Mom's family in Charlotte instead of The Carter Family in Bristol in 1927, country music history could have been very different! I don't mean to brag, it's just that they were that talented! Mom's family, The Drye's of New Salem, N.C. , had Grampa on fiddle, Uncle Homer on guitar & fiddle, Uncle Croft on stand up bass & guitar, Aunt Gladys on mandolin, Aunt Ramel on vocals and Mom on guitar and vocals. This CD is a tribute to the wonderful music they brought to our lives. "The Little Red School" and "The West, A Nest and You" are traditional songs I learned from them and my Mom is singing harmony with me on both! It is recorded as if we are all sitting around Mom's living room on a Saturday night. The incredible fiddle and mandolin are played by Mr. Alan Stowell.
