TAINTED LADY is a classic 5-piece rock band from Denmark. Learning their craft from bands from multiple eras of rock, the band is always seeking new ways to arrange and refine their old-school style of playing to give their songs as much of a personal voice as possible. The band has been collaborating with musician and producer Soren Andersen (Glenn Hughes, Jesper Binzer), and on November 22nd 2019 they are set to release their second studio album entitled 'Sounds Like Freedom // Feels Like War'. After the release of their debut album in 2017, TAINTED LADY’s reputation in the Scandinavian rock scene has been steadily growing. This culminated in them playing a number of Danish festivals such as Copenhell, Jelling Musikfestival and Kløften Festival in 2018. They also played esteemed music industry events such as Reeperbahn Festival (Hamburg) and When Copenhell Freezes Over (Vega, Copenhagen) in 2018-19. They had multiple A-list singles on Danish rock radio myRock and national radio DR P4, their music has seen 500.000+ streams on various streaming sites, and they won Music Video of the Year for “Ampburner” at the High Voltage Rock Awards 2017. Their new singles are quickly racking up views on Spotify, and they’ve been added to big international playlists such as New Music Friday and Hot Acoustics. “For our second studio album, we aimed at amplifying and building on the strengths of our band. We honed in on the different elements that might set us apart: Huge live-recorded production, meaningful lyrics, big vocal arrangements, etc. Aside from the obvious rock influences, this time our love for the 60’s folk musicians and their craftsmanship in songwriting seeped into the album as well. That inspiration started appearing early on in the writing phase, especially because we had a lot to say lyrically, just like a lot of the songs from that era had. The lyrics and themes are very much interconnected throughout the album, and the songs were written to be heard in sequence. All of the songs are about the world around us in 2019. ‘Down To The River’ is about greed and exploitation of nature, ‘Seven Billions Souls’ is an outcry for meaning in a confusing time, and ‘Kiowa Warrior’ is about the spirits of fallen Vietnam-war soldiers being unable to find peace until humankind changes its ways”, the band elaborates. TAINTED LADY was formed in the late 00’s when the members were just teenagers playing in their bedrooms. Their early roots were 70’s and 80’s hard rock, but over time more influences entered the mix. Through the years there have been different names and line-ups, but the final piece of the puzzle was found in 2015 with the addition of British/Danish lead vocalist Michael Catton.
