Attention parents and teachers of children aged 2-12! This album could be just what you’re looking for! My main goal for my first solo album was to write songs that I could use with my K-5 students in music class. Musical Drill (note values), Twelve Months (chromatic scale), Barnyard Sillybles (major scale and solfege), and Composer Rap (music history) teach musical concepts in a fun and memorable way. I also wanted to include original songs that would be useful for special times/events during the school year: Live Drug-Free (Red Ribbon Week – drug prevention), Cupid’s Arrow (Valentine’s Day), and Twelve Months (“You can’t forget one, ‘cause each one is fun!”). Songs that reinforce basic concepts for K-1 students, such as Just Count (1-10, up and down), Monday Mornin’ Blues (days of the week), and Three Little Pigs (classic tale) are mixed in with songs that speak to the overall experiences in elementary school: I’ll Be Alright (feeling sleepy), Line Leader (awesome responsibility!), and Learning Never Comes Easy (special needs). These songs were written in the 1990s, but continue to be favorites of both present and past students. Listen to a few sound clips and see if any of these songs fit your needs. Thanks!
