简介
In June 2012, EON releases their EP “Analogue Digital". Featuring 5 different sounding yet coherent tracks, Analogue Digital gives a clear image of EON’s broad palette of sounds. The energetic alt pop of Unwind and Synced to, the epic Comes again, the hypnotizing Lens flare and the opener It’s happening – in which the band combines the melodic strengths of singer Vincent Beijer with an explosive sounding bridge – create an image of a band that focuses on songwriting but is also willing to make an instrumental statement if possible. With Evert Zeevalkink on guitar and Vincent Beijer's remarkable voice, EON clearly has it's own vision and sound. Bass player Sander Kalmeijer and Maarten Hemmen on drums provide the energetic groove that defines EON. Evert Zeevalkink: "It's often something just out of the ordinary that makes the diffirence between a nice musical idea and an EON song: a deviant guitarsound, an interesting drum groove or a chord that doesn't seem to fit, but works anyway. A lot of times it's that particular sound that starts the creative process." Listening to the songs you can hear EON is a twenty-first century band.. Living in a digital era is a repeating topic on their EP. Singer Vincent explains: "When writing lyrics, I try to imagine a certain feeling or image that enhances the music. Although the lyrics mostly are autobiographical I try to keep the feeling universal, so that there's room for the listener's figment of imagnation. The goal is never to exhibit my own happiness or misery, it is to create an image that fits the music"
