简介
"By borrowing from the past, the Dogs created a timeless sound that was as exciting as the explosive punk scene, but was also completely different... power pop with a raw edge, yet very commercial." - Stephen SPAZ Schnee, All Music Guide This album contains 18 rare but fine Laughing Dogs originals, running the whole range from tender love songs to raucous humor and pounding rock ‘n’ roll. The title song is a declaration about hunger in a vicious world. Other favorites are the mysterious and intriguing melody of "High School Eyes", the surreal humor of "The Mule", and the aggressive punk statement "Bite The Bag". Featured are special guests Ronny Ardito (of The Shirts), Richard X. Heyman, Don Castagnio, and Max Sheen. Unique original songwriting - stuff you just don't hear very often - and wish you did. The Laughing Dogs began by living together very frugally in a loft in Brooklyn where they totally immersed themselves in music, rehearsing every day for many hours. They first became popular at CBGB's in New York and went on to release two critically-acclaimed albums on Columbia Records, "The Laughing Dogs" and "The Laughing Dogs Meet Their Makers". Known as musician's musicians, The Laughing Dogs have had songs in the Billboard picks and toured extensively with The Patti Smith Group, Cheap Trick, and Blondie. They toured as the band behind the popular voices of Mickey Dolenz and Davey Jones of The Monkees.
