Yiqiqu 一起去 ("We Go Together") is a small compilation of songs composed and performed by Shanghai-based musician Yukes玉刻, who combines traditional Chinese instruments with Microhouse and Downtempo electronic music, in an exploration of what the future of music in China may look like. Featuring as many synthesizers as acoustic instruments, the fusion is a major point of discussion on chinese social media; how can the instruments be explored by an outsider? What is the future of these instruments, and what tools can be used to support them?
