简介
Lindsay Weidmann dreams about famous actors. Not in a day-dreamy People magazine kind of way. She literally has dreams where she is a friend, lover, or jail-mate of various famous actors. These quirky, subconscious dramas, ranging in their settings, events, and main characters, have been presenting themselves to her nightly since she was a kid. “Quasi-Erotic Dreams of Famous Middle-Aged Actors” is the musical reenactment of a few of her personal favorites. This EP's comedic vignettes employ musical genres as various as the songs’ storylines. Starting with an 80’s power-rock song that battles Van Halen, Weidmann runs around with Bill Murray trying to find a place to make out with each other before the world ends in Bill Murray, We Gotta Hurry. Her Anne Wilson wails downshift to a sweet, crooning jazz melody for Mr. Clooney, Won’t You Excuse Me, where Weidmann’s attempts of a romantic exchange with George Clooney are thwarted by repeated embarrassing events, i.e. her teeth falling out and discovering she’s naked. In Steve Martin and I, Steve and Lindsay go on a series of pleasant adventures as best friends with an upbeat, folksy accompaniment. But the innocence is short-lived as the next song Kevin Spacey, You Saved Me, theatrically reveals Weidmann and Spacey are jail-mates in a Turkish prison. An emotional Weidmann, who shows off the heavy Andrew Lloyd Webber influence of her childhood, epically sings their attempted escape. This hilarious EP finishes with an upbeat, calypso bonus track “One Night Stand” which has nothing to do with dreaming or middle aged actors but speaks of real precarious adult situations. This unique and creative album is masterfully rendered in musical composition and arrangement, artful storytelling, and comedic delivery. Each musical genre contributes to its own story’s comedic presentation and the instrumental performances in each song are spot-on with their tongue and cheek effects. This album is bound for SNL – type audiences.
