Singer/songwriter Meghna Mahambrey first stepped on stage for a solo performance in her elementary school musical. She went on to cover the hits of Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Etta James in her middle and high school talent shows. In 2007, she recorded an R&B/pop album "My Little Tape Recorder" with production team Music Without Borders; in 2010 she recorded an acoustic/folk album "Home" with musician Tyler Imbrogno. The following year, with no producers or musicians to turn to, Meghna dusted off an old keyboard from her childhood and started writing again. Inspired by the music of Norah Jones, Ingrid Michaelson, Sia, and The Civil Wars, she soon had a notebook full of new songs that blended into the genres of jazz, singer/songwriter, and indie pop. Upon hearing Meghna sing at a local bar, musicians Aaron Farrier (drums), Ken Walker (guitar), Jamie Preston (piano), Nathan Warden (bass), Kimberly Trout (viola) and Chris Suttle (producer/owner of In The Red Studios) were impressed and offered their unique talents to help flesh out her music on her latest album "Kind Of Friend", which released in 2012. Meghna currently performs live with her band, Meghna & the Majority.
