The Course is an Indie Rock band based out of Seattle, WA. While rock-based in nature, the messages in the lyrics are meant to be positive and socially-conscious by nature. Many folks who have heard The Course usually describe the feel as being centered in 80's pop/rock and 90's indie rock. There has also been a trend in comparing The Course to the following bands (random comments and ReverbNation feedback): R.E.M., Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Green Day, Simple Minds, U2, Neil Diamond (yep, that guy) and Tom Petty. 'Heart Burst In Reverse' is the 2nd EP released from the band. There is definitely more of a rock/pop feel on this album. On this 2nd EP, the players are: Scott Krajca (guitars and vocals), Bill Ibsen (drums), and Bobby Heinson (lead guitar on 'Burn Bright' and 'Heart Burst In Reverse'). 'Run to the Sun' is a blissful journey down the 12-string guitar road with a sweet blend of Leslie rotating speaker effects (plus a nice little 12-string solo). 'In India' is a rock song that tries to answer the question 'where did Jesus live before he started all of that Bible stuff?" The title track on the album 'Heart Burst In Reverse' is definitely a throw back to 90's indie rock and features the fabulous face-melting lead guitar stylings of Bobby Heinson (of Seattle band Mulder, It's Me). The Course's 1st EP was entitled 'La La Liberation.' As a reminder, proceeds from this album and especially the song 'With Light' go to the Body Dysmorphic Disorder Program at Rhode Island Hospital.
