简介

Sarah & Lindsay is the collaboration between best friends Sarah Williams and Lindsay George. The two accomplished vocalists, songwriters and performers came together in 2012 on a unique musical undertaking: 12in12. The duo wrote, recorded and released one song each month in 2012, resulting in their debut EP, “Let’s Call it Love,” featuring six of the twelve tunes. Sarah & Lindsay’s unique sound comes from a plethora of influences. The girls cite influences like jazz greats Ella Fitzgerald, Anita O’Day and Nancy Wilson alongside soul queen Aretha Franklin and even modern pop acts like Corinne Bailey Rae. Their unique jazz-infused retro-pop has earned the duo fans, radio play and accolades across the country. Born in Philadelphia, but raised in Nashville, Lindsay was interested in music from a very early age. Having begged her mother to go to voice lessons and local theatre auditions since age 8, Lindsay began studying voice and earning parts in plays at 11. At 15, she began writing her own music, co-writing with and learning from acclaimed Nashville songwriters Karen Staley and Jon Ims. In high school, Lindsay discovered the Nashville Jazz Workshop, where she began to study jazz vocal technique. Lindsay was offered a full tuition Presidential Scholarship to attend Belmont University, where she studied Commercial Voice & Composition. Lindsay released her first jazz album, Living Inside Out, in 2009. She received radio play on jazz stations across the country and was featured in SESAC magazine. Songs from Living Inside Out have been featured in Californication, The Finder, and other feature films and television series. More recently, Lindsay recorded a pop album, Who Would I Have to Be, and she penned a song with co-writer Jamie Slocum for the trailer and soundtrack for the feature film, You May Not Kiss the Bride, starring Katherine McPhee and David Annable. Born and raised in Gloucester, Virginia, Sarah began playing piano at a very young age. Quickly realizing Sarah’s potential, her parents encouraged her to learn piano, guitar and to sing. Sarah moved to Nashville in 2002 to attend Vanderbilt University, where she studied classical piano performance. Sarah released her first album Ruby, in 2009. Ruby features 10 original songs and some of the best musicians in Nashville. Sarah’s infectious melodies and retro groove made Ruby a hit with everyone who heard it. It is available at Birdland Records, Nashville Music, iTunes and Bandcamp. It’s not often that two established solo artists come together as seamlessly as Sarah & Lindsay. Their unique voices and varying musical backgrounds blend together to provide a new style and new sound that appeal to audiences of all ages.
