简介
At a time when guitars are virtually non-existent in music (today), Swig is bringing back a raw, classic hard rock sound with a new edge. Formed in mid/late 2007, Swig has gone through numerous line-up changes since it’s first incarnation as Sauced in 2002 with existing Swig members Deb Fellows (drums), and Joe Milazzo ( bass). Once lead guitarist Wacky joined Sauced in 2004 the band took a more classic/hard rock direction rather than the garage rock sound the band currently had. This wasn’t the first time the Swig power trio had played together. A year before Sauced was born, Wacky and Joe were playing the local open mic nights in San Francisco and met drummer Deb for the first time and jammed on Ted Nugent’s “Stranglehold”. It wasn’t until about five years later that Wacky, Joe, and Deb decided that the three of them were all they needed. Wacky took reins of the vocals while keeping the role of the lead guitarist, and was backed up by his perfect rhythm section with Joe on bass and Deb on drums and vocals. Swig songs are mostly gritty, bluesy Guns N’ Roses/Zeppelinesque hard rockers about sex and drugs, but show a more sensitive/country side as well with songs such as “Home” and “What Matters The Most” sung by Deb. There hasn’t been a band like Swig around for a long time, and they continue to keep gigging in the rock scene and promoting their debut self titled EP. Swig.
