简介
Last Night on Earth is the new EP from Arrica Rose and the …’s. It’s an eclectic collection of songs that brings a retro flair to modern stylings with arrangements that are both lush and sparse, ranging from from energetic indie-rock to subdued ballads, all highlighted by Rose’s honeyed, sultry voice and poetic lyrics. Last Night on Earth was produced by multi-instrumentalist Jason Achilles Mezilis at his downtown L.A. studio on a 16-track tape machine (no computers involved), giving the songs a rich warmth and honesty that only your favorite analog recordings can offer. Rose has come a long way since her debut, while still a teenager, in the all-girl outfit UXBY, who played mostly locally in and around the Los Angeles area and opened for the likes of Jimmy Eat World and Commander Venus. The trio was once promptly evicted from The Silverlake Lounge after a set for being “severely” underage. Last night on Earth is the follow-up to Rose’s highly acclaimed full-length album People Like Us, recorded @ Wavelab Studios in Tucson AZ, and co-produced by Larry Crane (The Decemberists, Sleater-Kinney,Elliott Smith). "It's been a while since I've heard new music that I immediately liked. The last two bands I latched onto this quickly were the White Stripes and Modest Mouse. I now have another one. Los Angeles based Arrica Rose and the Dot, Dot, Dot's have recently released their first full-length CD, People Like Us. It's a 12-song effort filled with poetry disguised as lyrics and music with country/ blues/ bluegrass/ rock sound. "Corey Russell DAILY SUN "Rose is clearly a talented musician who is in control of her gifts. Her voice has the ability to make your heart stop."-Beren Huett, PERFORMER MAGAZINE "You know the old saw 'she could sing the phonebook'? Arrica Rose has one of those voices. I don't know how old Ms. Rose is, but her molasses-sweet slightly rasping croon has more than 20-odd years of pain in it." -Sarah Zachrich, SPLENDID MAGAZINE
