简介

Look to the Sky This CD is a gentle, reflective mix of cool jazz piano, ambient exotic keyboard sounds, lyrical bass lines, raunchy electric & elegant acoustic guitar, and ambient whispery vocals. It deals with the dark and painful subject of loss. It is hoped to be of comfort to others dealing with similar situations, as well as being a personal tribute to the inspiring force of the album. Track info: (Sleeve notes and lyrics included with the album.) "Healing (part 1)" The story begins with this gentle airy, bluesy, dreamy vocal featuring piano and acoustic guitar. For everyone who likes Gm, EbM7 and D7alt. "M.V.G." Just soprano sax and piano – jazzy wistful ballad featuring Lewis Watson on saxophone, one of the North East’s top sax players. Complex unremitting chords and tense rhythmic pulls feature here where the two instruments weave a elegy that pulls no punches. "A Place to Go" Laid back funky feel with raw understated vocals and exotic keyboard riffs. A heartfelt subject delivered in a raw & airy rendition. Feaures sounds from the Orient (and the Proeus 2000) "Book at Bedtime" Jazz trio style, a homage to Oscar Peterson - the main man of piano jazz. "Sleep" Latinesque percussion leads a full band sound with Caroline’s vocals enhanced with the vocal talents of Tom Cantwell. "Transcendence" Just piano and vocals. A ballad with unusual nuances. Just look to the sky.... "Healing (part II)" It takes time.... Full of minor 9s! "Coda" A succint goodbye. "Creative Consciousness (bonus track)" They are still there somewhere, somehow. A full big band Zappa-esque sound featuring layered synths and real brass, paying tribute to another big man of jazz, Bach.
