Artist Anne Nang’ole and Producer/Musician Graham Heath collab for their song “Sweet Summer Breeze ''. A Song that starts gently, reminding the listener how nature has the power to comfort us when we’re going through difficult emotions (hence the “Sweet Summer Breeze”). In contrary the chorus describes that although nature can comfort us, she also has the power to destroy us. The lyrics lines "But then all of a sudden people understand they have to go, and then all of a sudden everything starts to vanish and go, and then all of a sudden everybody wants to know, but everything is gone, so long gone" point out the climate crisis and how we tend to realize the severity of the matter only once our own house is burning, which is mostly to late. The song ends with the question “where did you go”, as in asking where did the "Sweet Summer Breeze" go, as a nostalgic reminder of a time where earth was still a nurturing place for humans to live on, speaking from a hypothetical perspective in the future. In short terms the song describes the paradox of humans relying on nature as a provider and caregiver but at the same time leading her into a state of self-destruction and therefore destroying our livelihood and thus ourselves. The song should remind us of the preciousness of nature and how we should not take her for granted and certainly not lead her into destruction. She gives us everything we need and all she asks for in return is to take care of her or at the least just let her be.
