Sammie L. Thompson is a former resident of Benton Harbor, Michigan who started playing in night clubs at the age of 16. His conversion occurred at the age of 23, when he gave his heart to the Lord. Sammie is now a Music Evangelist. Singing and ministering the Word of God, bringing the same Good News to others that he once received. Most of his life he's been involved with music. He has played various instruments:drums, bass, piano, keyboard and lead guitar. With these talents he has performed in various singing groups in the secular line of music. Over the years the Lord has allowed him to use these same gifts to the Glory of God.One can see God have not taken his talent or gift, but have and will continue to perfect it. Sammie has performed with various Christian artists, some of these are groups such as the Winans, Commissioned, The Clark Sisters,Russ Taff,Vision, A.D of whom Sammie toured with for two years as Lead Guitar player. He has performed with bands and solo singers, such as Debbie Allen, and Arthur Reed just to name a few. Sammie have always desired to minister with his family and as of February 2005, Sammie was married to Melinda Moreland, a Native of Atlanta, GA. She too, have been in musuc since the age of 14 and have found it to be such inspiration and a priviledge to be used of God." Thank You Father. She have sung and recorded with various artists such as: Georgia State Community Choir, The National Black Gospel College Choir Workshop, James Bignon and Deliverance,Bobby Jones Show and WorldChangers Mass Choir just to name a few. Melinda has song behind many well known artist as well. Sammie and Melinda believes God have used and anointed them to minister the gospel in music to inspire and uplift those that have been wounded, discouraged, and broken hearted, and those who are captive. They also believe that God wants Christians to listen to the Word of God through music, so that it can bring them joy and hope and to draw them closer to a mature relationship with him. Music can be a tool to minister to the lost. The information above is mainly to inform you, on who and what The Thompsons have done for the Lord. They believe the scriptures, and especially Luke 19:10, which is the whole purpose for their determination to fulfill Gods' will in their lives. Being ministers of the Gospel, they are indebted to what God want them to do through ministry of music. The music that Sammie and Melinda has done ranged from Praise & Worship,Contemporary, Hip Hop and Traditional music.Sammie have a heart to reach the youth.and a message that will reach all peoples hearts.For the past 20 years he has produced and recorded many tapes & CDs for the kingdom of God. One of Sammie & melinda's unique qualities is that they are very versatile in the type and styles of music they performs. This is a tremendous asset. They believe that our redemption is drawing near, Luke 21:28, we must work while it's day for the night cometh and no one can work. God has allowed them to endure and persevere, for what He has in mind for them, knowing that they can do all things through CHRIST JESUS, which strengtheneth them. (Phillipians 4:13). In all our lives we can think of those times when we felt like giving up. They too, has experienced such things but, because of the sincerity of their hearts and determination to win, no matter what, they continues to find the inner strength that only God can give to persist. The Holy Spirit is welcome in all that they do and they recognize that without him, what is music.
