These songs clearly express and testify of the beliefs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the play a young LDS woman sings the song "This I Believe" to a young man who wonders why he is even on this earth and what is his purpose in life. As a result, he accepts the missionaries and is taught the gospel. The songs "Thou Are My King" testifies of our belief in Jesus Christ, "Joseph Smith the Prophet" tells of Joseph’s vision and mission in restoring the Church to the earth, "A Testament of Jesus" testifies of the Book of Mormon, "The Priesthood is Restored" declares that the power to act in God’s name has been restored, and "Ask and It Shall Be Given" and "The Still Small Voice" tell how we can now the truth. The song "One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism" teaches of Jesus’ baptism and what we must do to follow Him. "There Is a Place" tells of the glorious blessings of the Temple where families can be sealed together forever. "Even As I Have Loved You" is a powerful conclusion that declares the Lord’s desire for us to love one another as He has loved us.
