Sarrass is a producer and musician from the south-west of Germany. Sarrass began by studying and playing trumpet and piano in orchestras and small groups (classical and jazz). The music of Klaus Schulze was his first encounter with electronic music and itchanged his perception of what is music. Later, he had another paradigm shifting moment when hearing Techno for the first time. His first release was in 2009 on Compost Black with the ‘Home At The Sea’ ep. Third Ear discovered him when browsing through the top friends of someone who had contacted Third Ear on My Space. What Sarrass wrote about himself and about his music made us want to listen to it. His music player on his My Space wasn’t working. But undeterred, we contacted him asking him to send some tracks. "I always try to express a deep, melancholic beauty with my sound, while going ahead with drums, sometimes leaving things behind and finding new borders", he says. "It always has to contain this emotional thing, which is more important to me than pure functionality. Therefore I often stay with a very raw version of a track, keeping things open for the listener..."
