Allan is best known as the primary songwriter and lead vocalist/multi-instrumentalist for the indie/orchestral pop band Starlight Mints. The group released four critically acclaimed albums between 2000 and 2009 before the members moved on to new projects. doubleVee released their first demos in October of 2013, with the demo of their song Jack the Rider earning the twelfth slot on the Oklahoma Rock Show's list of the Top 24 Songs of 2012 and their demo of Dangerous World earning a slot on the list of the Spy Radio program hosts' favorite songs of 2013 thus far. Literati Press' Charles Martin said “Jack the Rider is superb! Very lush and buoyant, but with a curious undercurrent. It's like the soundtrack to a weird kids' show that's not really for kids.” Official mixes of doubleVee's first three singles are available via iTunes, CDBaby and other online retailers. Jack the Rider was released October 31st. Dangerous World on November 7th and Frucus Minus [The Flycatcher] on November 14th. Plans for videos and a full-length album are in the works.
