简介

These real, live, unedited phone calls are hysterical! Everyone can relate who has been harassed by telemarketers and high pressure sale persons who don't really listen and continue with their "sale seeking" agenda. All my made up characters were improvised on the spot. What you hear in these phone conversations is my sincere, true, live, unedited improvisation! All the voices and characters are created by me in the moment and deal with each telemarketer in a unique way. Each track is very different from one another. The album starts with "A Guy In A Hurry" who wants to buy what she is selling but he's in a hurry! My character is talking a mile a minute and basically is rushing her so much, by the end he is spewing his credit card number without understanding what she is actually selling! "Cursing Kid" involves a character with a kid who is cursing during the conversation. While reprimanding his son about the cursing, the dad is cursing and openly asking the telemarketer where these kids get their fowl language from! "No More Fee" is a classic saga of a phone call with music! My character lives out in the suburbs with a rotary phone, paying high prices for long distance telephone service. When offered a discounted rate from the telemarketer, his excitement is so over the top and builds emotionally with the music! Improvisation at it's best, you will find yourself on the floor laughing! This track is must have classic situational comedy moment! "Sex With Wife" involves my character having sex with his wife while the saleswoman is trying to sell him some kind of a credit card offer. It's unbelievable how the saleswoman remains on the line as my character & "his wife" are moaning and groaning with bed shaking sounds! (I am both voices: the husband and wife at the same time, again no overdubs, no editing) "Japanese Guy" starts with my character speaking broken, semi-fake Japanese with a telemarketer. My former Japanese roommate can be heard in the background; between the language barrier and miscommunication with the telemarketer, my character and my former roommate, we mistakenly think she is trying to sell us pot! "Jackie Robinson" is built on a misunderstanding where my character thinks the telemarketer is Jackie Robinson's son! In between exchanges. my character does a baseball cheer in his excitement that he thinks he's talking the king of baseball! This was inspired partly because at the time, I lived near the Jackie Robinson Parkway. "Are You American" involves my character paranoid about terrorists and thinking the telemarketer is going to mail him anthrax! My character starts to test the telemarketer to make sure he is a true American and goes as far as pushing him to sing "God Bless America!" Surprisingly, the telemarketer reveals that he actually doesn't know the state above NY, doesn't know the current presidents name or the president before last! My characters makes fun of all the "Stereo types" and "racism" as a result of fear of "The Terrorist." This is a funny one but also a dark look into the average unaware American! "Beethoven" is a unique call with my character ending each of his replies with the a recording of the first phrase of "Beethoven's Fifth Symphony!" This mono thematic build starts to get really funny as the telemarketer is confused but continues to try to sell my character a new long distance plan! Enjoy all the tracks and I hope you laugh as much as I do when I listen back.
