简介
JUNE was founded in 2000 after the split-up of a local successful band called Adultery in which singer Maurice van Tol, drummer Remco Verdegaal and guitarist Nils Meijer took part together. They decided to continue their musical career in a new band. Bassist Martijn Willemsen joined them, and everything fell into place, JUNE was born! In 2002 they got into the studio for the first time in this formation to record a single containing two original songs entitled Everywhere I turn and Thank You. This single led to performances for several local radio stations. In 2006, 2007 and 2008 JUNE recorded three christmas albums. These albums each contain cover versions of well known christmas songs, like Last Christmas (Wham) and All I want for Christmas is You (Mariah Carey), as well as original songs. For these albums JUNE worked with several special guests, like Mark Lennon (www.markylennon.com) from Venice and internationally famous Jazz trumpet player Saskia Laroo. Recent In December 2008 JUNE will release their first official single, Turn off the lights. The title song is a beautiful, melancholic and atmospheric duet featuring Judith Jobse (www.judithjobse.nl). Judith Jobse is a dutch singer/songwriter. In 2001 she won a TMF award for her hitsingle 'You'. The single will also contain two B-sides, So Fast and Sundaymorning, featuring Saskia Laroo (www.saskialaroo.nl).
