In my early stages of music writing, I came across many frustrations, and discovered many injustices in working with people in the industry, and struggles in my personal relationships. Starting with Save Me, this is a self-proclaimed song of redemption within my own soul, and outlines the frustration, clarification, and opportunity within my career as an artist. The story then starts at the beginning, with Stuck in a Rut, when I struggled to maintain my sanity in a world of unforthcoming individuals that I had no choice but to try and work with, while still maintaining my pride and dignity. Old broken toy explains the feeling that I had after being let down, lied to, and neglected by the people who I believed were the ones who would have my back. Fighting back the neglect with intolerance, Roxie is about not accepting the current status quo, and uniting with my fellow sisters at large to stand up and speak out regarding the injustices that can take place in personal relationships. Here Now was one of the first songs written, perhaps as a prelude as to what was to come into my life, with the love and support I yearned for so long. F U Money was the first song written, and it was started six years ago after hearing of so many work injustices that my friends and family were going through at the time. Finally, Be The One, my song of hope, love, and commitment! A preview of albums to come :-)
