I was born Tequoia Keitt, better known by the stage name Chosen CTW ( meaning Change The World). I'm an American MC/ Singer/Graphic Designer/ Producer/ Engineer from Orangeburg, South Carolina. In 2003 battle rap was a way to get away from fighting, expelled from school living in Virginia, battle rap became the main way to make money to avoid going back to dealing. I realized I didn't wanna go to jail for the rest of my life, and the money coming in from just local battle rap was more then enough to make up for the potential losses. After realizing I had a gift in rapping (winning battles 26-0) I started working on becoming an artist. I had never had purpose before this point. God had entered my life and it changed my content into being conscious concerning what's going on. From that time I had been producing and rapping in the hopes of making this the main source of my income. In this journey I have been blessed to have met many people but one of the most notable influences in my life has been from a mentor of mine named "No Malice" (ond half of the rap group "The Clipse"). He saw me perform at an event and invited me to work with him as an extra ear on his album (Hear Ye Him), and the lessons he has and continues to teach me are ones that you couldn't even pay for. During this time I was privileged to meet " The Neptunes" who taught me so much about production and engineering. In these times in 2013 I learned from Young Guru (Engineer to JayZ) with his online classes about engineering; he even hosted a "mixing" competition and out of over 7,000 entries, my name was one of the 10 winners. My music continues to evolve with each passing day and has and always will be used to encourage, teach, and relate with the seemly voiceless majority. My content is not that of the regular artist, meaning I do not rap on things that don't pertain to my lifestyle, everything is real and raw emotion showcasing my belief in God and what He has put me here for. I hope to become a major positive voice in the Hip-Hop community as it is a culture that saved my life. My music is Hip-Hop/ Jazz/ Alternative infused and carries with it the legacy of those who have contributed the most to the culture.
