The full title of this song is "Onward!" Song of World Freedom; The League of Nations Anthem.” It was written in 1919 with words by William P. Taylor and music by Frederick Hall. There are two versions. The full version consists of all four verses and chorus, and the "Formal" or short version. According to the music, the "short" version was the one verse that was to be used for Formal occasions. This is the Formal version. This modern (2012) arrangement looks back to 1919 for its inspiration. This song is also associated with the soon-to-be hit play "Gott Mit Uns: Adventures of a Paleolithic Goddess in the Modern World." In the play a giant penguin goddess is mistakenly summoned to our present day by a paper-work filing error of a bureaucracy conceptually modeled after the League of Nations. This song of the League of Nations, discovered by the author of the play (Dan McLaughlin) while in production, rather nicely, in his opinion, syncs up with the mood and philosophy of his fictional bureaucracy, the United Deities Directorate. Convoluted, maybe. Entertaining, undoubtedly. More specifically, this song was produced by Dan McLaughlin. The music was arranged by Dominick Hauser. Mark Sellin directed the recording and sang along with Bailey Spencer-Jackson; Clynell Jackson; Diana Pinto; Margit Schmitt and Nathaniel Sellin.
