Carlton Rara专辑介绍：Composer, singer and percussionist, Carlton Rara was born in France in 1975 to a Haitian mother and a French father. His music has been called the « Haitian expression of Blues and Soul » as in addition of strong haitian roots, blues, reggae and soul music take a good part in his compositions. During his childhood he spent much time in a theater where his father worked. He attended many international musicians, artists and performers of all kind. Carlton first started singing and playing percussions as a self taught musician. Then he absorbed all his influences to change them into gates to freedom throughout a permanent artistic research to eventually bring out a new style of his own. He grew his roots as an artist, deep into haitian music, carribean and african musical culture as well american soul and blues indeed. Al Jarreau, Michael Jackson, bluesman Taj Mahal, Ghanaian master drummer Mustapha Tettey Addy or famous jazzman Dizzy Gillespie are some of the performers that most inspired him. Carlton made his debut as a solo performer in 2004, singing in creole or english and playing percussions with original compositions or rearrangements of haitian music traditionnal themes among others. He participated in some international festivals such as Awesome Africa in Durban (South Africa). Then he performed on stage with various musicians for a couple years before he recorded in 2009 his first album Peyi Blue that was acclaimed by the critics and started bringing him a wider recognition. His second album HOME is out since March 2012, it is coming out to confirm that Carlton Rara is a universal artist that keeps laying bridges over borders.
