LRenee House Music Debut with Omar S mentioned in Overseas blog VPRO Helemaal onaangekondigd is de line-up overigens niet. Alles glibbert, alles druipt. Basloopjes uit een 909 zoemen door de zaal, vlijmscherpe snares ketsen af op de tegels. Uiteindelijk is het z’n in het midden geplaatste samenwerking met L’Renee die het allemaal samenvat. S.E.X LRenee Mentioned in Examiner by Kem On this album, you made sure to introduce your audience to the awesomely talented L'Renee, who I also had the pleasure of featuring in the past. It was very gracious to give her a solo song on your album. Please tell us more about her! L'Renee is the first artist who is signed to my label, Kemistry Records. She is a Detroiter, she is extremely bad (as in good), and I believe in her talent. She's got a big voice—she is a singer's singer. She puts you in the mind of the legends that I adore—Gladys Knight, Patti Labelle etc. I really wanted to let the world know that I believe in her, and that she's coming out. My belief in her talent is so strong that I gave her a spot by herself on one of my albums. I'm really happy about that, and I'm looking forward to you guys hearing more from L'Renee. Neflix is now streaming documentary that features music from LRENEE Netflix is now streaming “The New Black.” [including music from Recording Artist LRENEE] This documentary focuses on how the African-American culture is dealing with same-sex issues from all aspects of life. Families, clergymen and activists are showcased on both sides of the gay rights issue, and give light to what many are missing from that culture’s point of view. The in-depth film also investigates the strength and power of the black church; the pillar of the community’s spirit and devotion. The doc examines how right-wing organizations are hoping to use that structure to secure votes for their anti-gay agendas. Civil rights issues have long been the slats of the political soap box, and this year’s ruling on marriage equality sets another precedent, bridging discrimination to equality. “The New Black” examines the similarities of African American civil rights to those now extended to gay Americans, but does everyone agree that their plight is one and the same? Sharon Lettman-Hicks, Executive Director and CEO of National Black Justice Coalition, says of the documentary: “The making of The New Black changed my life! It was a critical piece of our work at the National Black Justice Coalition that demonstrated the challenges of living at the intersection of racial justice and LGBT equality in an amazing, storytelling way.” If you are a Netflix subscriber you can stream “The New Black” HERE Timothy Rawles is Community Editor of SDGLN. Nonetheless, the show must go on and the Detroit-based crooner has rounded up a few friends to fill in for Braxton when the tour pulls into Washington, D.C., later this week. Joining Kem for selected dates on the tour will be R&B favorites Avant, Jazmine Sullivan, and Marsha Ambrosius. LRenee Mention in "You Know I Got Soul" — 11/26/2015 Last night at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden, Kem made the NYC tour stop on the 2nd leg of his “Promise to Love” tour alongside Jazmine Sullivan and L’Renee. The nationwide tour has already been a huge success for the r&b star, and tonight was no different, as he performed before the thousands who packed in for the sold out show. The show was opened by Kem‘s Kemistry Records label artist L’Renee, who warned up the crowd with her beautiful and booming vocals. Commanding the stage with the vocal power and stage presence of a true star, she proved tonight why Kem tabbed her as the first artist he’s introducing on his label. Ticketmaster Fan Review (1) 5 / 55 / 5 Open Ratings Snapshot 5 / 5 It Was a Pleasure to Listen to L'Renee!Such Talent Greensboro Coliseum - Greensboro, NC - 11/23/2014Posted 12/05/2014 by HallandOatesBiggestFan This Fan's Reviews Top 1000 Contributor Anytime I attend a concert, I'm usually less than enthusiastic about the opening acts. I've seen a few good ones. But, L'renee was such a pleasure to listen to! She did a wonderful job singing songs by her favorite artists. As an artist, L'renee had to know that she was taking a chance of getting booed off the stage, when she chose to perform hits by artists such as Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle, and Whitney Houston. But, this girl did her thing!!! She had such a beautiful voice. Her performance energized the audience. I truly understand why Kem chose her as a backup singer. But, I can see L'renee going solo. She was the perfect opening act for Joe, my favorite R&B artist, & for Kem, my next favorite R&B artist, on the Promise to Love Part I Tour. This was the perfect concert, from L'renee's opening act, to Joe's always sensational performance, to Kem's hypnotic voice! Excellent job, L'renee! I would pay to see you and my two "boyfriends" again! I can't wait to see you perform, when you decide to go solo. Favorite moment: Walking up&giving Joe a long hug, receiving his towel, meet&greet w/Kem,FRONT ROW,& hearing great music Setlist: L'renee performed I Will Always Love You. She did some Patti, & Chaka too. Joe performed If You Lose Her, Stutter, & some Frank Beverly & Maze, Kem performed It's You, Share My Life, & some Rick James Opening act(s): L'renee and then Joe
