Rebel Dub is Chuck Foster's fourth dub release and features Soul Syndicate/Aggrovators/Observer All Stars guitarist Tony Chin, Studio One and Channel One alumni Tony Bird on organ, Mike Irwin from Rough Sounds on bass, piano and ,melodica, UK's Horseman on drums, Rex Bailey on lead guitar, Hawaiian steel and ukulele and Chuck himself on guitar, harmonica and (sparse) vocals with percussionist Lai Hee adding spice. The riddims are stripped-down and solid and the dub effects rooted in the classics with a contemporary feel. Chuck is long-time host of Reggae Central on KPFK, author of Roots Rock Reggae: An Oral History of Reggae From Ska To Dancehall (Billboard, 1999) and The Small Axe Guide To Rock Steady (Muzik Tree/I Am the Gorgon, revised edition 2016), wrote the Reggae Update column for Beat Magazine for two decades and in 2010 chaired a panel on dub at the University of West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica.
