With an effortless blend of a silky smooth voice with the spice only the street can provide, the music of TaitanO has developed into a universal sound that will make its way into clubs, cars and most definitely bedrooms. "I like to sing grown folks music," TaitanO says. "I been doing this since I was born so it’s just a part of me." Although the current trend is to jump into hip-hop and look for ...the one-hit magic, TaitanO is focused on making sure crooners keep their place in real R & B music. His first single Can’t Let It Go showcases his soulful sound, highlights his wisdom in life and relationships through his writing, and his depth of ability. "I’m all about making relatable soulful music that comes from the heart." Don’t mistake TaitanO’s sound for whiny, sappy-type music though. Although the beats are on the ballad side, his lyrics have a healthy dose of street that keeps his sound edgy and his message with a bit of a bite, which is understandable from the road he’s traveled to get to this point. "I was born in Guam into a military family. We moved to Oklahoma and that’s where I fell in love with R & B music. Even though we traveled a lot, I connected with R & B and always will." TaitanO’s track Game Over is a sizzling reminder that while romance is good, not everything goes as planned and sometimes tough choices have to be made. Game Over is one of the best examples of how a peanut butter-smooth dish can have a venomous bite. "I write everything from what I know and what I go through," TaitanO says. "I was in love with this girl. I thought she was the one. We were together for awhile, talking about a future, marriage, kids, the whole nine yards. Next thing I know, she leaves me for another guy out of nowhere. She still thought she could get me back, so I told her through this song that the game was over." TaitanO’s song writing uses simple words, but expresses a depth of feeling that young and old can relate to because it is so honest. "I’m not gonna use any difficult words or else there would be a lot of people who wouldn’t know what I’m talking about. I may use simple words, but its not about what you say, its about how you say it." Many artist spend years trying to find themselves in their music, TaitanO doesn’t have that problem — he just needs an opportunity to get his skills showcased on a broader scale. "I’ve always performed at local spots," he says. "And every time people love it. And that’s really all I want. I know that if I get a chance to let people hear what I can do, they’ll love me." TaitanO is currently working on a variety of projects and looking forward to big things this year. "Hopefully, this year will be a big one. I have to pay my dues and continue to work. My focus is establishing a growing fan base, doing that that I feel certain that my CD will be successful. Possibly better opportunities may present itself. I know it will take some time, but that’s my goal."
