Justin Currie专辑介绍：Justin Currie release his new solo album Lower Reaches on 19th August. Recorded in Austin, Texas, with producer Mike McCarthy (Craig Finn, Spoon, Patty Griffin) the album will be the first release on Currie’s own label Endless Shipwreck, through Ignition Records. As singer and main songwriter in Del Amitri, formed in Glasgow in 1983, Currie wrote many of their biggest hits. Songs like Nothing Ever Happens, Kiss This Thing Goodbye, Always the Last to Know, Roll To Me and, of course, controversial 1998 World Cup anthem Don’t Come Home Too Soon, made the Dels one of Scotland’s most successful bands of the time. But nothing has been heard from the Glasgow outfit for more than 10 years, since their record company’s failure to promote last album Can You Do Me Good, which looked like the final chapter in a career that included 15 Top 40 singles and four Top Ten albums. Justin has continued to write and perform ever since, releasing two critically acclaimed solo LPs, What Is Love For, in 2008, and The Great War, in 2010. Having moved in with his long-term girlfriend Emma after his previous album, Justin headed for the seclusion of the Scottish islands to focus on songs for the new LP. He said: “With the change in my domestic circumstances, I wasn’t writing as much as I normally would, and there was the chance that, even after renting a wee place in the mountains on Skye, I’d sit and stare at the walls for two weeks. “But I wrote 15 songs in 11 days, which is unheard of for me, and a lot of them made the record. Skye is full of these dropout artists, folk who’ve been around there for ages trying to finish their novel or whatever. So I thought I’d be one of those weird dropouts, escaping the big smoke. I found it really helpful just going out and looking at the scenery.
