The progressive house track “Time Travel (Warp Factor Mix),” one of the album’s hottest numbers, builds with explosive intensity. “Starlight Express (Midnight Mix)” features singer Andre Akinyele with a seductive take on love in some future century. Tribal beats and a cyborg-molded voice populate “Do Androids Dream (Tropo-Electro Mix).” “Euphoric Nights of Future Past (Mega-Trance Mix)” introduces hypnotic rhythms and mysterious voices. Driving rhythms on “Noises Off (High Octane Mix)” reinforce the raucous world plaguing a nutty neighbor. The gritty “A Different World (Dystopian Mix)” recounts how the future never quite turns out the way we imagine. “Alien Nation (Mad Robot Mix)” drips with dark, foreboding overtones: what’s past is future. An insect-like alien sings on “G 51-15 (Extraterrestrial Mix).” “Harmonic Vibrations (Tau Ceti Mix)” creates a cool lounge vibe that wouldn’t be out of place in the bar scene from Star Wars. The album closes with the chill-out, ambient sounds of “Epsilon Eridani (Deep Space Mix).” The music draws on multiple influences—progressive house, Kraftwerk, lounge, tribal house, pyschedelia, sci-fi. The blend of unusual voices and ear-catching effects suggests a future world both familiar and strange.
