The challenges of living far away from home are shared on Wishing on a Star, and Magic Dream is about the importance of counting your blessings. Ua Hala Na Kupuna speaks to Hawaii’s youth about honoring their cherished ancestors while Kakou Apau and Hey You Kapu encourage Hawaiians to hold tightly to their beloved land and culture. Songwriters Leo Gleason (ukulele, vocals) and Waina Niau (lead guitar, vocals) penned nine of the ten selections, while Gene Kapeliela played bass and Danny Guevera (rhythm guitar, vocals) lent his talents to the musical arrangements.
