From the opening song title I'm Unafraid, it doesn't take long to become convinced that Patrick Ulinski not only is indeed 'unafraid' but he has tied up his debut 16-track album in the exact same sentiment. Staying true to his deeply rooted background in piano and laying the foundation of his compositions from there, Patrick has utilized his talent in writing songs that cut to the quick of problems with life, relationships gone wrong and a new found hope along with harmonic guitar solos, percussion laced drums and warm synthesizers. From songs such as Ammunition with its electro-driven bass drum and synth effects, to the upbeat and hopeful I Can't Let It Go, to the reserved, vulnerable and stripped down Where Has My Faith Gone, combined with the folky and remissive I'm Sorry, Patrick Ulinski has been nothing short of ambitious and thrived in it. His debut album which he self-produced from his Bellingham home is both relatable while not compromising in purpose & listenable while refusing to sacrifice musical ingenuity.
