简介
About the Artist Wilson's varied musical career began by singing in a Cathedral boy's choir, which he attributes as a beginning and central influence in his philosophical approach to music. Wilson has composed music and performed for an array of musical groups, as well as his many solo performances of original songs. Though not inspired to play or learn composition through the classical tradition, he gives a lot of credit to the composers whose work the classical approach is based on. Along his own path of invention, Wilson's compositions are most notably influenced by the music of the Italian Renaissance, Baroque, Celtic and folk styles. He has written and performed many piano, instrumental ensemble, choral and progressive rock compositions that have been well received by many audiences throughout the Midwest. Much of his earlier work was composed for the nylon string guitar, but he later switched over to the piano, which he has found more conducive to composing counter point and harmonies for various vocal and instrumental works. Wilson\'s interests in both classical and modern philosophy, and poets such as Yeats, Rumi, Rilke and Bly have had a marked effect on his music as well as his writings. Investigative thought, married with music, are at the heart of his approach, and guide him in the composition of what many have likened to instrumental poems. Wilson's music might best be described as melodic, reflective and sincere. In the 1990\'s Pat Wilson relocated to northern Michigan ("by the water and amongst the trees") and now divides his time between there and New York, where he continues his work in musical composition, writing, drawing and poetry. -lms
