简介

In the age of electronic machines easing music and musicians into the simplicity of drum machines and mass production, Brahe (Bra-hey) is orbiting counter clockwise back to made-by-hand organics and true talent. From the cardboard sleeves of their new CD, "Mass Movement," which are individually painted by an artist circa Kansas City, to the music embed on the disc in all its glory of flawless production and no vocals to take time away from the hands-on instrumentals, Brahe is keeping the human heartbeat in art alive. "Mass Movement," is aggressively progressive. While flip flopping from genre to genre and gene to gene, the band eludes a classification and leaves listeners thinking up labels like freeform funk, highbrow hip-hop, trigonometric techno, math-minded common-time murder, instrumental indie innovation, and just jazzy jam. Although all four band members were all raised on rock, Brahe seems to give no graces to genres. They just try to keep things groovy in their own way. Hip-hop hormones rattle rhythms of foot-tapping handclaps, snare-drums snarls and heartbreaking beats, which sets their music into orbit, while the guitar and bass drift like comet tails ripping out rifts of their own and shredding out rock-away harmonies of melodic tangents. This astronomical formula keeps Brahe's sound always and forever eclectically groovy. Brahe idiosyncratically contains interconnecting waves of double helix bonds to the DNA spirals of the Mars Volta, Fugazi, Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters, Outkast, Miles Davis and Michael Jackson. The predicted trajectory of their counter-clockwise orbit promises to get away from Mars with a much more down-to-earth approach and a lot more grungy grit and fluid funk. A little bit about the CD: This is a limited edition pressing of 200 CD's. All of the artwork has been done by local Kansas City artist Stephen Thompson. Stephen is creating the artwork on each CD by hand using mostly acrylic ink and other types of media. The CD's are then numbered, packaged and sent out to you by the guys in the band.
