"All In All" is a song over 20 years in the making. Lee heard the A.B. Simpson hymn "Himself" at a small, rural church in southern Vermont around 1990 and was deeply moved by the lyrics which portray the transition from self-centered faith to a radical cross centered life. Camping near Cooperstown, NY, around 1992, he worked out his own accoustic arrangement of the song, using Add9s and lower voicings of standard chords; this creates the reflective and intense emotion that A.B. Simpsons lyrics call for. Fast forward 20 years to 2011! Audio Production professor and musician, Rob Lehmann, took Lee's arrangement and supplemented it by adding bass, cello, trumpet and background vocals. Rob reached out to two superlative engineers to mix and master "All In All." These two sought after technical artists captured the essence of the song -- both for the general listener and the audio afficionado. After two and a half years (we all have families!) and a dozen studio sessions this one-song project finally completed on February 28, 2014.
