This CD is truly one of a kind, while Spoken Word Artist have used Popular hi Hop beats, more so than not it is used as the entire track, instead of blended into other production, as most Popular Mix CDs, when the DJ uses tracks from other others and blend them in with different artist. Never before had I thought I’d actually make a mix CD. Even though it is commonplace in the music industry, I enjoyed and am a lover of originality, I like new beats, and new lyrics. But while I was in Los Angeles, with the suggestion of one of my good friends, and after about 2 weeks of trying to convince me, I went ahead and played with the idea. Something that seems to backwards from my forte, I started to embrace the project. Simply taking the original verse from one of my prior or upcoming CDs, and supplementing my own musical track for other producers, a very startlingly thing occurred to me…it actually sounded pretty good. Not only that, but it was amazing how I could just take a verse previously recorded, and lay it over a beat I didn’t record to and hear it come out so perfectly. The only new recordings for the project, are the interludes and clips from a conversation I had with my friend, Jeff Jackson. So, with some of today’s hottest beats, I give you, my Spoken Word Mix CD, ‘From Selegna Sol.’
