简介
In the fall of 2003 in San Francisco, singer/songwriter/guitarist Keli Reule (Leather and the Suedes) approached her friend drummer Pat Elliott (The Impossibles, Leather and the Suedes, Lessick) to help her flesh out some her songs. They soon brought in Forrest Allen (Leather and The Suedes, Lessick), friend and bandmate of Elliott’s from Austin, to fill things out on bass. They were promptly stopped short in early 2004 when their practice space was robbed by another band, putting them without gear for more than six months. Aside from the setback, they continued to work on songs in the guys living room in the lower Haight Ashbury district of SF. Soon thereafter, Reule had to return to North Carolina (were she hails from originally) for a considerable amount of time after severe tragedy struck her family, and she returned to the west coast with new perspective. After having gone through multiple guitar players, they brought in long standing member of the SF music community, their friend Gabe Ryan (Spark and Decay) to round things out on guitar. Solidifying their line up helped shape the dynamic genre bending sound they have now. Built around Reule’s distinctive alto, which ranges from haunting and languid to a full on growling howl, Elliott’s pounding driving rhythms, Allen’s gritty stealthy bass lines and Ryan’s crashing and careening guitar lines their artistic and chaotic sound grits its collective teeth and rocks out. Their Debut Full Length was recorded in January 2007 by Aaron Prellwitz (Hella, Trans Am, Bratmobile), at Tiny Telephone Studios in San Francisco CA.
