junk-E-cat is back! After two years of playing live in clubs, at festivals, on rooftops and on his fire truck, junk-E-cat went straight to the studio with his production partner in crime, Constantin Carstens, to create some sounds! Together they are refining ideas and sketches from junk-E-cat’s weird brain into new exciting tracks! These tracks are to be released one by one in 2023. Maloka is the first of the bunch - the track premiered live at Melt Festival, when junk-E-cat played on his moving fire truck stage luring the crowd from the festival’s main site to the sleepless floor at sunset. The track’s foundation is a bass clarinet loop to a straight 4 to the floor kick-drum. The added looped woodwinds reinterpret the harmonies, leading to a seductive soprano sax solo - mixing soulful house and electronica with a pinch of jazz at its finest. The final production is based on the live video performance at an airfield hangar near Berlin.
