This album portrays Rachel Wammack and her life. Many of the tracks are love songs written about cold dates and the pure feeling of love. Other tracks are encouragement that she gives to people going through personal struggles. The uplifting beats were created by Quinn Stanphill. Rachel's friends in Muscle Shoals and Florence, Alabama are the several musicians that make the lyrics come to life. The album title "Lavender" was chosen from the first track on the album. There is a line in "Ooh Sweet Baby" that recalls the orange sun setting over a lavender sky. Rachel is a hostess in a rotating restaurant called 360 Grille that is twenty-two stories tall. While watching the sunset at work, Rachel gained the inspiration for the track and for the album itself. The album is intended to tell people that no matter how crazy and difficult the world can seem, there is always beauty and goodness we can focus on.
