BIOGRAPHY Sis. Vic, born Victoria Gbenjo, was born into a family of four in Alexandria, Virginia. They spent a few years there and in Lansing, Michigan before moving to Fort Washington, MD, where she spent her childhood years and first learned she could sing! Victoria has been song-writing since the third grade. In 2004, a new job opportunity for her father brought about a move to the greater Houston area, Texas, where she would meet Christ a few years later. This changed the core of her song-writing and music selection. Though the initial years in the south proved to be a difficult relocation that greatly strained the family, she gained solace from songs and eventually joined the church and school choirs. In high school, she began to sing with GAiJ, a group with two great singers and friends of hers (Ese I. and Ogechi A.). She also became a member of Lambalion Music Ministry, ministers dedicated to delivering the truth through music, and began releasing singles, including "Are You Sold" and "Joy" (on the Lambalion mixtape). Some other members of the ministry include Grace Aina, Bro Chosen, TYA Beats and MysRee. From juvenile jingles to songs that make sense, Victoria, or "Sis. Vic" (as she considers herself a sister to all the body of Christ) sings food for the soul; soul music. Her sound is neo-soul and jazzy with some occasional rap and cultural hues from her Nigerian background. She has a first degree in biology, from Trinity University, a Masters in Public Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center, and is currently pursuing a DPM at Temple School of Podiatric Medicine. Victoria loves to sing, song-write, dance, model, act, doodle, eat bananas, and laugh! She desires to see people from all walks of life obtain peace in Christ, and to see the body of Christ just as that: a body, working together in sincere love.
